A few weeks ago celebrity couple Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin announced their plans to consciously uncouple (in plain language: separate). While I personally found this an odd way to describe the demise of a marriage, it did seem to made perfect sense to describe the state of Telecommunications.

When I think of robots, the first thing that comes to my mind is Rosie the Robot maid from the Jetsons or R2-D2 and C3PO from Star Wars. In real life my experience has been with the iRobot line of cleaning solutions and its well know Roomba  and Sony’s AIBO – the robotic pet – which was put down in 2006.

This week, Facebook announced their participation in the Internet.org project, an effort to “put the entire world online.” They also released a whitepaper detailing how to get there from here, with the title asking, “Is connectivity a human right?”
