In last month’s column, “Artificial intelligence: I think therefore I am?,” I felt I only scratched the surface of what we understand to be artificial intelligence (AI) and, in this month’s post, I want to expand my thoughts a little further.

“The future of 5G remains hazy but certainly promising.” This might have been both the best and most concerning quote I heard at the 2019 IEEE Brooklyn 5G Summit – especially coming for the CTO of a Tier 1 US operator. In other words: We have this really cool technology that has a lot of potential. We think there are some really good use cases, but we aren’t exactly sure which ones will take priority beyond mobile broadband.
